Earlier this week I had lunch with a friend of mine I worked with a number of years ago. One topic: the importance of having everyone on the same page to be able to move forward efficiently and effectively.

For me, there’s one metaphor I keep in mind when I think about what kind of leader I want to be. I visualize showing the team where we’re going – the view towards the mouth of the cave – then extending out my hand to help them on our journey to get there.
