I’ve always liked people being clever with words, particularly when there’s a dual–meaning pun involved. Our name is meant to capture our goal of reducing friction and our collaborative approach. We seek to function as a catalyst, supporting you as you free up the energy wasted in those friction points and use it to propel your company forward.
The coefficient of friction is a factor used in physics that shows the relationship between two objects and their resistance to movement (OK, slightly more involved, but that’s the general idea). When the coefficient of friction is low, there’s less resistance to forward movement (or progress). Keeping that mental image at the forefront of my consulting work helps keep me focussed on reducing that friction.
My mental image of collaboration is the classic “everybody pulling on the same rope”, vs the counter to that, “everybody off in all directions”. True collaboration leverages capacity across the company and is the most efficient way to make a real impact on the business. This is the “Capacity” that comes from Clarity & Unity. When everyone has clarity they can be united behind that clearly communicated goal, which brings the organization the capacity to gain forward momentum.
